Tonight at the Capitol Theater in Olympia FRIGHT CLUB presents another viewing of one of my all time favorite horror films. The epic Stanley Kubrick film THE SHINING shows at 9:00 pm. Do not miss out on this chance to see one of the most important horror films to ever be made. We’re talking about a tour de force of terror from the opening credits to the bitter frozen climax of an ending. Hang onto your ticket stubs because in true OFS fashion a raffle is held before the screening that will put you up for a gift from the film series sponsors. The BlanketFort will be there, so sit with us and we promise to share our popcorn with you!

The 4th of July through 9th OFS will be showing LOVE & MERCY and THE WOLFPACK on a daily rotation and you can start your kids 4th off right with a Kids Club viewing of the one and only Studio Ghibli production WHEN MARNIE WAS THERE at the usual 11:00am time slot.

Friday the 10th until the 16th The Capitol with is showing DAYS OF GRACE, LAMBERT & STAMP daily. A viewing of ZELINSKI is showing Tuesday evening.

FRIGHT CLUB is also showing another round of George Romero’s DAWN OF THE DEAD. Come witness classic zombie horror and treat your ears to the superb soundtrack provided by the one and only Goblin. Fuck I love all this great horror being graciously brought back to the silver screen to see it as it was intended!!!

The Blue Mouse Theatre in Tacoma’s Proctor district is bringing PITCH PERFECT 2 and TOMORROWLAND to their cool and cozy screen. July 11th marks another showing of THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW complimented by the talented Blue Mousketeers performing along with the film!

The Grand Cinema in downtown Tacoma will be showing the following through July 9th: ME AND EARL AND THE DYING GIRL, I’LL SEE YOU IN MY DREAMS, LOVE & MERCY, A LITTLE CHAOS, DOPE, and FELIX AND MEIRA.

The Grand Cinema is also pleased to be partnering with Tacoma Pride and the Pierce County Aids Foundation to bring you the PRIDE FILM SERIES with a July 14th viewing of THE CIRCLE at 1:45pm and again at 7:00pm. July 15th the PRIDE FILM SERIES is showing TANGERINE in the same time slots. TANGERINE holds 100% on and is shot almost entirely on iPhones. This truly is a new era in independent film making! Each viewing will be followed by a short in-theater discussion led by PCAF.

The Grand Cinema is always a cut above by making those rare opportunities to further explore and discuss film events with your fellow patrons more readily available and all of Tacoma loves them for that!

Happy viewing everyone! Get out of the heat and support your local air conditioned film houses all while expanding your film knowledge and appreciating some great cinematic art!!!
