This week SIFF Cinema Uptown in conjunction with the Seattle – Gdynia Sister City Association presents the 23rd Seattle Polish Film Festival.
For several years now, cinema out of Poland has come leaps and bounds in quality and fine artistry. Themes of love, social climates and history have become basis for several successful Polish films both in the home country and around the world.
This year the Polish film festival is offering nearly a dozen feature films as well as shorts from many different writers and directors, many of whom will be in attendance for the festival. The festival runs October 7th – 18th with venues such as the Northwest Film Forum, SIFF Uptown, and the Seattle Film Institute presenting.
Festival events include post screening cocktail parties on Friday nights at Tin Lizzie, an opening weekend reception at 10 Mercer on the 10th, and the closing weekend reception at 10 Mercer on the 17th. Both receptions will welcome festival guests and feature live music.
The Polish Film Festival is a once a year opportunity to explore cinema from a country that continues to produce quality films in all genres. So go out and support this unique festival!!
